Everyone talks about and wants work-life balance but for most it is a pipedream. But in Seaford, South Australia, the dream can be a reality.

Seaford is in the southern suburbs of Adelaide and offers huge lifestyle opportunities for professionals, especially General Practitioners.

Why Adelaide?

Australia is renowned for its laid-back lifestyle, pristine beaches and friendly locals – and that is Adelaide down to a tee.

It’s almost like a big country town without the stresses and pressures of the bigger cities.

Seaford is just 35km or a 30-minute drive from the heart of Adelaide.

The Southern Expressway allows much of that journey to be taken without the inconvenience of traffic lights.

The city is also accessible by bus and an electric express train that opened in 2013.

Adelaide is Australia’s most liveable city, and in 2021 was rated the third-most liveable city in the world, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit Global Liveability Index.

The index ranks 140 cities based on their stability, healthcare, education, culture and environment and infrastructure.

Despite the recent housing boom, land in Adelaide remains cheaper than in most other Australian capitals, as does the cost of living, including dining out and entertainment.

Adelaide enjoys a Mediterranean climate of dry summers and mild winters.

And with a population of little more than a million people, it’s nowhere near as busy as the big cities on the eastern seaboard.

You’re never far from anywhere in Adelaide.

Why Seaford?

Originally settled in the 1850s as part of the farming boom, demand for housing development in Seaford rose as Adelaide’s population stretched north and south.

The suburb was set out in 1954 and quickly became popular owing to its stunning surfing beaches.

As the suburb grew, so too did its amenities.

Seaford boasts its own commercial hub with shopping centres, supermarkets, restaurants and boutique stores.

And if that’s not enough, the area’s biggest shopping complex, Colonnades, in Noarlunga Centre is less than a 15-minute drive away.

Non-government schools Woodcroft College, Tatachilla Lutheran College and Southern Vales Christian College are all nearby.

And they cost around 40 percent less than private schools in Sydney.

The world acclaimed Flinders University is just 22 minutes by car with four other universities located within the CBD.

Seaford is abundant with bike tracks to make the most of the sea air and views.

Think the peace and quiet of the country, with all the convenience the city has to offer.

It’s also just a 10km or 10-minute drive from the heart of McLaren Vale which boasts some of the world’s very best wineries and restaurants.

And it’s a leisurely 50-60km drive to the seaside holiday towns of Victor Harbor, Port Elliot and Goolwa.

If you love the beach, spectacular seascapes and a more relaxed lifestyle where the city meets the country, then you’ll love Seaford.
